Quinsigamond Village Economic Revitalization

The City recently adopted a new business assistance program called “Quinsigamond Village:  Restoring the Past—An Integrated Program for Economic Revitalization.”  The Integrated Program, which was developed for the Greenwood Street Landfill Taskforce, is the result of many months of research, public outreach, and analysis of the Village, with a focus on the commercial corridor between McKeon Road and Wiser Avenue.  Specifically, the Program includes the historic context of the area, recommendations for ways to improve the pedestrian environment, and suggested economic development strategies to capitalize on the existing or planned neighborhood assets.  A major component of the Integrated Program is a Façade and Storefront Improvement Program that provides matching grants for certain improvements to eligible properties.
