An Evening Tour of Mass Audubon's Sanctuaries Through the Artist's Eyes
Environment / Nature - Class/Workshop
Friday, July 21, 2017
7:00 PM-8:30 PM
During a two-year period, Barry Van Dusen is visiting Mass Audubon's 56 wildlife sanctuaries, producing drawings and paintings at each location. You'll hear about Barry's adventures exploring Mass Audubon properties all around the state, and learn more about the approach he uses to meet the demands and challenges of working on location. He'll also show how field sketches and studies are used in the studio for larger, more complex works. A selection of the original watercolors he has produced for the project will be on temporary display.
Combining a lifelong interest in nature with a formal art education, Barry has developed a style that acknowledges the importance of science and biology while maintaining the primacy of artistic expression. Spend a relaxed evening with the artist as he shares the stories behind his paintings. Light refreshments will be served. For more information and to register, call 508-753-6087.
