About Goo Goo Dolls:
The multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Goo Goo Dolls are one of the most globally respected and influential forces in popular music, selling more than 12 million albums since 1986. They have scored 14 Top 10 radio hits (more than any other artist in the history of the Hot AC format), including "Name," "Slide," and "Iris," the latter spending nearly 12 straight months on the Billboard charts and holding the No. 1 position for 17 consecutive weeks. The band has toured the globe countless times, performed in front of millions of fans, received numerous awards (including four Grammy nominations), and recorded and released 11 full length studio albums. On May 12, 2017, they released their first 5 song EP, You Should Be Happy, which features the hit single "Use Me". You won't want to miss this rare opportunity to see them up-close and personal in this intimate acoustic performance at Mechanics Hall.
About The Rua:
To craft their idiosyncratic sound, THE RUA draws inspiration everywhere from Wagner, Debussy and Fauré to Taylor Swift, The Corrs and The Cranberries to film soundtracks, especially John Williams, fantasy and sci-fi. Self-proclaimed "filmaholics," the members of The Rua Roseanna (guitar, lead vocals), Alanna (piano, vocals), and Jonathan (violin, vocals) Brown might look familiar because you've seen them on the big screen. All three siblings have appeared in the Harry Potter movies and the film 'Stormbreaker,' while Roseanna, 22, can be seen in 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and Thor; Jonathan, 19, in 'Dark Shadows; and Alanna in Closer. Their acting experience prepped them for performance, but theyre quick to distinguish the differences between playing otherworldly characters and baring themselves in the studio and on stage as The Rua.
About Jack Vandervelde:
Jack Vandervelde represents a new kind of pop music. Not so slick, not so glossy, not so mindless, it feels good and lands in the sweet spot of what makes life worth living. Many have compared Vandervelde's sound to superstar artists like Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes, yet Jack Vandervelde has a fresh and distinctive sound that is very much his own. Like so many young artists with a truth to tell, he's sending his music into the world and following where it leads. For the songwriter/artist, the path appears to be everywhere.
At age 22, Jack has already toured the with the Plain White T's in the US, and with Ashton Merrygold and Emile Sande in the UK. Jack also appeared as an actor in the indie movie "Crooked Arrows". His first two singles, "Trouble" and "Pick it Up Sometimes" are available now on iTunes, and you'll be hearing much more new music from Jack Vandervelde in early 2018 and beyond.
