The Museum of Russian Icons was founded in 2006 as a non-profit educational institution by Massachusetts industrialist, Gordon B. Lankton. The collection is the largest of its kind in North America, and the largest private collection outside of Russia. Spanning six centuries, it includes important historical paintings dating from the earliest periods of icon writing to the present.
The Museum has several galleries displaying themed exhibitions from the permanent collection and rotating exhibits from venues worldwide. It also has a gift shop, Tea Room with Russian tea and snacks, and a state-of-the-art performance auditorium. The Museum offers a wide variety of classes, workshops, film series, lectures, concerts and performances and is available for group tours, school groups and private/corporate rentals.
