Artists Renée Caouette, Dave Kamphammer, Diane Reed Sawyer, and Janet Schwartz invite you to their second group exhibition in two years. Last March the group curated their first joint exhibition, Contemporary Realism Impressions by Four Boston Artists, at the Piano Craft Gallery in Boston. This year they continue their collaboration with Four Artists Four Visions at the Sprinkler Factory.
Over the past year the artists each have pushed the boundaries of their work. Caouettes conceptual and symbolic narrative scenes reflect her inner world, using figures and interiors as her muse. Kaphammer pushes experimentation with color and abstraction, finding beauty in the stark landscape. Sawyer continues her exploration of landscape with a focus on what lies beneath. In exploring unfamiliar realms, she seeks to push the boundaries of representation while maintaining a sense of context. In a departure from her previous focus on a singular body of work, in this exhibition Schwartz explores diverse subjects, mediums, artistic styles, and palettes, as series.
