Hydrorider Small Group Training w/Elaine
Drawbridge launched in March and will
continue in April. The Hydrorider Aquabike
is a unique water bike made for the activity
of aqua cycling taking advantage of the
many benefits of the aquatic environment.
The resistance is determined by 4 paddle
wheels that are adjustable-the greater
the surface volume of water, the greater
the resistance. Resistance is also added
by increasing RPMs through acceleration
which is key in aquatic conditioning.
Additional challenges can be added by
seat positions, intervals or power pull
techniques. Aqua shoes are required! Give
it a try it is not spinning rather, it is a
unique workout and perfect for your rest
days when training (hint- no impact!) or
increasing your aerobic conditioning after
injury or time away from the gym. There
are only 4 bikes and reservation must be
made through Turboroster. The $10 fee
can be paid at the kiosk. April sessions will
take place Monday and Thursday evenings 6:15 PM-7PM. Contact Elaine Drawbridge, Fitness Director, at edrawbridge@worcesterjcc.org or call (508) 756-7109 x230.
